About
Hi.
Welcome! This publication. As written on the slogan, in the description, and anywhere else I can place it, it is designed to think two steps ahead past the illegal conflict in Ukraine and discuss the future of Russia. My humorous name comes from the propaganda channel “Russia Tomorrow.” The pinnacle of humor and beyond.
My story.
As recommended by the guide on writing your first post, I should tell the reader my story - how I came to be and why this collection of ones and zeros exists on Substack’s servers. It all began in Moscow, where I was born during the turmoils of the 2000s. I was born just in time to live my whole life under Putin, slowly seeing his reign develop as I grew older. My parents protested the Putin regime in many opportunities but were eventually forced to stop after brutal suppression in fear for the safety of their family. In the winter of 2016, two years after the illegal annexation of Crimea and the start of Putin’s crimes in Ukraine, we “fled” to the United States of America.
When Russian troops, most young men unwilling to fight in Ukraine, attacked the soil of a foreign nation in February 2022, I knew that something had to be done. Yet, like most Russians - I felt powerless and discouraged. Reading Twitter threads calling Russians “all bad” and “ogres,” I pondered the future.
In October, I decided to step up my presence on Twitter as any slightly unstable citizen would. There, I criticized undeveloped plans for Russia’s future and discovered how threads work. Early in my newly founded political career (… on Twitter), I debated starting my newsletter. That post was met with some encouragement and planted a seed in my mind that would eventually begin this newsletter.
The goal.
There is a road ahead for Russia, where democracy and cooperation become strong values. However, to even hope to set foot on this unpaved path into the deep forest, the Russian opposition needs one essential item - Western enthusiasm. Previously, Navalny enjoyed the support of Western politics. However, in recent times, as politicians press for larger budgets, they have villainized not only Putin but the entire nation. This villainization has led to the slow but steady build-up of a single damaging opinion - there is no future for Russia and its people.
This project is dedicated to breaking that perception. By critiquing plans, laying out potential scenarios, and reporting on non-mainstream news, I plan to build a wide array of ammunition to help develop, even a little, a democratic future for my nation.
